Meet Zarley

Zarley is estimated to be around 12 years old and is 3.5 pounds. Poor Zarley was found in the road huddled up against the curb. The women who stopped to help him said he was getting blown all over by the cars speeding by. She was able to get him and dropped him off at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. Zarley was there for a couple days before the rescue was contacted for a medical plea. While he was there he was neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. One of Zarley’s eyes was previously removed and he has no teeth. He’s currently being treated for kennel cough and will see an eye specialist soon to make sure his remaining eye is healthy. He does have a hard time seeing but is getting around his foster family’s house with no problems. Zarley is so sweet to anyone he meets and he gets along great with his foster family’s pets and children. He loves to curl up in a ball and lay next you or be carried around. He is a happy tiny guy! If you are interested in adopting him please fill out a adoption application. He is not ready for adoption yet he needs to see the eye specialist for dry eye. Watch for his updates.

Meet Chipper

Pupdate:
Chipper is doing amazingly well, and is still the biggest cuddle bug. He has gotten better with not being glued to me at all times, but if the opportunity is there, he definitely takes it. I have learned that he does well with the large dogs that he’s met (GSP and Cane Corso), so he could go to a home with a large dog. He still loves to go for walks, and is down to about 4 pounds. He is ready and waiting, and I would love for him to have his forever home in time for his birthday in April ❤️.
Meet Chipper, who came to us at the beginning of the month. He is a 9.5 year old (10 on April 23rd) who was surrendered by his owner who was unable to take care of him. He has been living with someone with dementia for the last 18 months since his dad died, and needed help. Poor boy has been attacked by coyotes 3 times, has a history of corneal ulcers, and has had a grid keratotomy done to help his ulcers. He already sees Dr. Norman at Eye Care for Animals, which is who we take all of our eye problem dogs to. His foster had been working with his mom (not who he was living with, due to his mom also being unable to care for him) for a month to get him, and we are glad that he is finally safe.
Unfortunately, his care was not kept up with recently, and he is a mess. He’s obese, has an ear infection, skin infection from the urine on his feet, and his eyes are not great.
He is sweet, friendly, and has some basic training already.
He saw our vet immediately, and has been treated for all of his infections. He was diagnosed with dry eye in his right eye, so will be on medication for life for that, and he has an appointment at the eye specialist at the end of the month.
He is not available for adoption, so watch for his updates as we work on his medical needs!

Meet Bella

My name is Bella and I will be 15 years old this December. Don’t let my age fool you!! I still have a lot of spunk and love to give! My foster mom doesn’t believe that I’m almost 15 and said I look great! Somethings I love to do are: go outside, go for walks, lay in whatever I can find like the hamper, moms bags, and my little brothers car seat. Of course I love to eat and treat time! But my favorite thing is to be anywhere my family is! I also love the pool! I surprised my foster mom when I got into the pool all by myself and relaxed on the steps with her. She said she’s going to get me my own pool float since I love to float around and be right in the action with everyone. I am a good girl with other dogs and children but I don’t know what cats are and if I will like them. I hear I was surrendered since I pee in the house but after my medical exam we found out I have a urinary track infection. I’m currently taking antibiotics and I hope that helps me feel better! Once I’m done with the antibiotics I will be able to have my teeth cleaned and start looking for my forever home. Keep watching for my updates!

Rocky is a adorable little guy who is about 7 years old. He spent the last 5 years of his life outside so we are working on “house manners” Rocky is a little fearful around his head and feet  so his forever family will have no children, and he is not a fan of cats. He is a sweet boy who just needs time and patience to help him learn all the rules. He will be getting a dental soon then will be ready for adoption.
