Meet Griffin

Griffin is a 2 year old sweetheart who loves attention and snuggles. He gets along well with other dogs and kids, however he does like to be the alpha male. He follows his foster mom around wherever she goes in the house. He really likes to play with toys but is quite strong and needs indestructible toys. His previous owner did say he likes to eat rocks and other objects. He is so fun to have around and wants to be with you all the time!

Meet Heaven

Meet Heaven she was found as a stray and no one came looking for her. We are sorta happy for that as she has not been taken care of very well. She has rotten teeth, and a slew of mammary tumors and a open sore on her belly. She is Est. to be about 9 years old. She saw our vet and she weighs 6.4 pounds, her blood work is good she is scheduled to get her tumors and spay on 8/4 once she recovers she will get a dental. We could use some help with her vet bills

Meet Elsa

Meet Elsa 💕
Elsa is estimated to be a 1-2 year old yorkipoo (Yorkie and poodle mix). She was found roaming a neighborhood in Mesa. Unfortunately she didn’t have a microchip or collar with tag. For the past week we and her finder have tried locating her owner with no luck.
Prior to her groom she did have a lot of uneven matted hair and was terrified during the grooming. She has had her initial check up with our veterinarian to get her microchip, up to date on vaccines and bloodwork. She still needs to be spayed but since she is in heat we have to wait about a month.
Elsa is a very sweet girl and loves to be with her foster mom but she is very cautious around men. Her foster dad is working on gaining her trust. She has been great with young children and the other dogs in the home.
Please consider donating to her medical bills 🙏🏼

Meet Xander

Xander has found his forever home

Meet Xander. He came to Yorkie Luv Rescue as an owner surrender. He is 8 years old and weighs 8 pounds. He is very sweet and timid at first until he warms up. He gets along with other dogs but seems to prefer the company of dogs a little bigger than him that like to play but also relax too. He loves to go on walks and be with his humans. He also loves to sleep with them. He is crate trained and housebroken. He would do best in a house that is quite with no young children and someone that is home or works from home. He won’t be available for adoption until late July when he has his much needed dental done. We will be posting updates when he is ready.

Meet Bunnie

PUPDATE: 5/2/2022
Bunny update. 🐾
She is back home with her foster family and resting. Overall everything went well. There were a couple times her heart rate got pretty low but her heart responded very well to the medication needed to support it under anesthesia. There was not enough healthy bone for a plate so screws were used to hold everything in place. Bunnie has a long recovery ahead of her. It can take the soft tissue 2-3 weeks to heal and 8-12 weeks for bones. For the first two weeks she must be confined to a crate or small area, once her sutures are removed in 2 weeks we will begin to slowly increase her activity.
PUPDATE: 4/11/2022
Bunnie is at our vet this am we are redoing x-rays on her heart and doing a EKA for the cardiologist to review, She may need a echo before surgery we should find out by Wed. Keep watching for her updates.
PUPDATE:
Bunnie went for her initial vet visit yesterday. Bunnies pelvis is broken in 3 places and will definitely need surgery. We will be consulting with an orthopedic surgeon soon.
The veterinarian was very concerned about Bunnies heart arrhythmia as it is very abnormal. We went over a couple scenarios or possible diagnostic testing that can be done but the vet ultimately decided Bunnie should see a cardiologist. She is concerned about Bunnie under anesthesia with such an abnormal heart beat.
We did receive some bloodwork/ urine results this morning. She does not have a urinary tract infection so the bloody urine may be trauma related.
Keep watching for her updates 💕
Meet Bunnie💕
Bunnie was found as an injured stray by animal control. The shelter suspects Bunnie was hit by a car. She has a severe pelvic fracture that will require surgery and her hind end is covered in bruises. Bunnie also has a heart arrhythmia possibly due to AV block and on x-ray her heart looks a little enlarged. She is missing some incisors and one canine tooth has a tip fracture. Her foster also noticed last night that she has blood tinged urine. Her undercoat is full of matted hair and ticks. Bunnie is currently on 2 pain medications and treatment for the ticks.
Bunnie has a long road to recovery. She will see our veterinarian today then will need a consultation with an orthopedic veterinarian to repair her pelvic fractures.
Despite everything she has going on Bunnie has been the sweetest girl! She loves to cuddle in her fosters lap and just wants to be loved.
Bunnie is estimated to be two years old. 💕
🐾Any donation big or small will help us to get Bunnie feeling like herself again🐾

Meet Zarley

ZARLEY FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME

Zarley is estimated to be around 12 years old and is 3.5 pounds. Poor Zarley was found in the road huddled up against the curb. The women who stopped to help him said he was getting blown all over by the cars speeding by. She was able to get him and dropped him off at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. Zarley was there for a couple days before the rescue was contacted for a medical plea. While he was there he was neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. One of Zarley’s eyes was previously removed and he has no teeth. He’s currently being treated for kennel cough and will see an eye specialist soon to make sure his remaining eye is healthy. He does have a hard time seeing but is getting around his foster family’s house with no problems. Zarley is so sweet to anyone he meets and he gets along great with his foster family’s pets and children. He loves to curl up in a ball and lay next you or be carried around. He is a happy tiny guy! If you are interested in adopting him please fill out a adoption application. He is not ready for adoption yet he needs to see the eye specialist for dry eye. Watch for his updates.

Meet Cubby

Cubby is an adorable 2 year old, 10 pound yorkie boy who is working on his dog door training and potty training, and doing very well with it! He is a picky eater, so I have kept him on the food his previously family was giving him. He is well mannered and does not beg when his humans are eating. He is not a barker, I have heard him bark a couple times in the 8 days he has been here. However he would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time or can take him where they go. He has been here a few times for an hour or so at a time and does ok, but he prefers to be wherever his human is. He is shy at first, it will warm up to you within a few days. He does well with other dogs, cats and children!

Meet Gunner and Ladie

LAIDE AND GUNNER FOUND THEIR FOREVER HOME

Gunner and Ladie are a bonded pair, brother and sister! They are so well behaved! They haven’t had one accident in the house! They are doggie door trained but I don’t have a doggie door. They quickly learned to stand by my sliding glass door if they need to go out! Gunner doesn’t have any teeth but looks adorable with his little tongue hanging out! He has a very healthy appetite and loves to give kisses! Ladie loves her belly rubs! I was told they liked sleeping in their beds but they quickly adapted to sleeping in my bed and are awesome cuddlers. They are in no hurry to get up in the morning! They love to go on walks although they get quite vocal when they see other pups! They are just excited and want to say hello! They are good with other pups, but prefer ones their own size. The are good with kids. Gunner and Ladie are little love bugs and are happy cuddling all day! They are Velcro pups…..they will follow you everywhere! When left alone, they look out my front window and wait for me to get home.
