Happily Ever After

Meet William

WILLIAM FOUND HIS FOREVER FAMILY

This sweet boy came to us after he was hit by a car in mid November, and he is approximately 8.5 months old (as of early December). He is a very tough little guy! He sustained at least 4 pelvic fractures and has at least 1 sacroiliac luxation (possibly both, but scans were inconclusive). In layman’s terms, that just means that his pelvis was/is detached from his sacrum. He came in to my work minutes after being hit, and was very much in shock, had no anal tone, and no control of his urine. He took a bit of time to stabilize, but once he did, he never looked back! Right now, he’s still healing and on crate rest, but he very much wants to be a puppy. He wants to play with the dogs and cats here, and I can’t wait for him to be able to be a puppy. He is such a happy boy, and his tail never stops wagging! He loves belly rubs, and just being with people. While his legs and spine are slightly off, he gets around great, and has regained full control of his bowels and urine. He still has a few more things to get through right now. He will be getting xrays this coming week to check his progress. Once he is fully healed from his fractures, we will wait a few weeks, then he will need to be neutered. He will not be ready for adoption for awhile, and we are not yet accepting applications for him. Watch for updates on this sweet boy!

Meet Daphne

DAPHNE HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME

Meet Daphne. This sweet almost 9 year old, came to us through no fault of her own. She’s a cuddly love bug, who loves to be right by someone. She also loves to play with other dogs (when she’s not cuddling with her human) and go for walks. She needs a dog friend in her forever home, since she really enjoys the companionship at her foster home. She even does fantastic with the cats in her foster home. Her ideal day would include cuddles, belly rubs, kisses, a walk when it’s cool enough, play time with dogs, and some food. She weighed 7 pounds at her vet appointment, and is working on losing another roughly half a pound. Daphne is just a happy girl, and she will make a great addition to a lucky family.

Happily Ever After

Meet Sapphire

SAPPHIRE HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME

Sapphire update
She’s been with us almost 3 weeks and is a total sweetheart.
At her vet appt she was over 8 lbs. Vet said she should be closer to 6. She seems like she has lost some weight I can now find a harness that fits in the waste and the neck.
She has trouble moving around due to her weight but is already showing progress and is more active. We go for a walk before bed every day and I usually end up carrying her 90% of the time but twice this week she actually walked the entire time.

She is totally transitioned to dog food and her skin allergies are much better. At first we were having to wrap her legs or she would scratch them bloody. This week she has been unwrapped and without a shirt since her bath on Sunday and so far no scratching. She received injections at the vet for allergies and as an antibiotic. They seem to be working well for her. She was horribly constipated when she first came but her improved diet has her quite regular now. The chlorhexidine bath has helped her skin as well.

We are also working on house training which is hard since she rarely ever even went outside with her owner. She loves wandering around the yard and sniffing our boys pee spots and has actually gone potty out there a few times without prodding.

Sapphire is a adorable super sweet little girl who has Valley Fever and sever allergies. She is 3 years old and just joined our family. She is not ready for adoption as of yet and will be seeing our vet soon so watch for her updates.

Happily Ever After

Meet Olivia

OLIVIA FOUND HER FOREVER HOME

Update on Olivia:
Adorable Olivia is doing fantastic in her foster home. Her fosters found she is not “old and fragile” as her previous owners decribed her. In fact, the way they described her and how she really is makes it sound like two different dogs. She appears and acts younger than 11 years old. If she has a collapsed trachea, which is common in yorkies, she does not show any serious signs of it at this time. She does pant when she is excited or nervous. She is also overweight which can contribute to the panting and not being able to walk long distances. She weighs 10.5 lbs but should probably be 8.5. Her fosters are working on that with her. She does love her food and treats and can be food agressive so it best to separate her at meal times. She had her blood work done and everything came back fine so she will have her dental soon. She doesn’t like to be picked up and she doesn’t give kisses so if you are looking for a dog that does that it will not be Olivia. She would do best in a home with one other dog or as an only dog. She is housebroken and is an absolute doll. Her foster parents think she is perfect. If you think you have the perfect home for Olivia you may fill out an adoption application to meet her at yorkieluvrescue.com.

Please help us welcome our newest addition Olivia. She is 12 years old her mouth is rotten and she has collapsed trecha that we know so far. Olivia has had a ruff life she had a home and was ‘given away’ in 2018 the new ‘loving family’ never transferred her chip so original owner got a call when she was picked up by county. Now original owners are moving out of state and do not think she would make the drive and can not afford her medical bills. Welcome to the orphanage Olivia you are safe now and will get the medical care you need.

Happily Ever After

Meet Dino

Dino’s amazing foster family decided to adopt him. He is one lucky little guy

16 year old Forever Foster Dino is doing great! He has gained weight since he was rescued from P3 at Maricopa County West. He can see shadows which helps him get around his house and backyard. He gets excited when it’s time for his meals. Even though he had to have what remaining horrible teeth he had, he loves to eat and loves treats. He also loves running around after his foster mommy. He had blood work done recently and his kidney values were up just a little bit so he will be starting a prescription diet to get his numbers in the normal range. He is very much loved.

Dino is a adorable little old man who somehow ended up at the county shelter. Dino has rotten teeth and oral nasal fistula’s he will be going in soon for his dental
