CHICKIE FOUND HER FOREVER HOME
Chiquita, or Chickie, is a 13 year old Yorkie (likely mix) who came to the rescue through no fault of her own. She had large bladder stones and a rotten mouth, both of which have been taken care of. She is also obese, but has already lost weight on a reduced calorie diet. She was 9.2 pounds when she first came in, and should be around 5.5 to 6 ideally. She’s a fantastic and happy girl, and she loves everyone. She does well with kids, dogs of all sizes, and cats. Because of her age, she’s not very active, but she does enjoy a short stroll around the neighborhood. She really just wants a lap to lay on and hands to pet her. She would love to lay on your couch and sleep in your bed. Chickie is pretty much a go with the flow dog, but will let you know when she wants to get in your lap. She’s decently well potty trained, but does still use potty pads occasionally. Her bladder is still very inflamed from the trauma of the stones, so her vet believes that she will improve over the next few weeks. She does have mammary tumors, however her vet believes that since they are small, they will go away now that she’s spayed (the other issues were more pressing and time consuming in surgery). This sweet little girl is perfect for someone looking for a loving senior dog!!
